Speaker: Andy Lea on The Genetic Tidalwave

The Twisted Hop (map)

Selected By: Unifex

I'm pleased to announce that we have a speaker this week.

Andy Lea is currently a Senior Medical Analyst with Winifred S. Hayes Inc* who provide "unbiased, evidence-based health technology assessment reports of new, emerging, and controversial health technologies." , has a BSc in Neurobiology and a PhD in Psychology of Hearing.

Andy will be speaking on the clinical consequences of the human genome project and the resulting tidal wave of research into the application of genetics in the medical area.

We will gather at the Imagitech Theater** at CPIT from 6pm with an estimated start around 6:15pm. We have the location until 7:30pm. After this time we'll migrate down to The Twisted Hop.

Bit of a clash with the Web Developers meetup, but maybe we can combine forces after the talk.

wide ranging deep knowlege on this and related subjects.

Well-informed, thoughtful, and supported by reliable references. Good presenter, happy to listen to him again in future.

He was a good relaxed speaker who spoke plainly to the lowest denominator.(me) Topic was off the brief of 'skeptic', but still interestingly enough to get me there. Can we get him back and others of similar 'ilk' more often?
